Designed for pinball enthusiasts of all levels, the event combines the thrill of head-to-head matches with the spirit of community and fair play.

Battle Ruleset

Welcome participants to the King of the Hill Pinball Battle. This event is a competitive platform for pinball enthusiasts to engage in strategic and skillful play. Our aim is to foster a spirit of fair competition and to showcase the abilities of each participant in a series of one-on-one matches.

The specific dates and times for the matches will be announced soon, dependent on the number of participants and the speed of registrations.

1. Game Selection

  • A selection of Zen Pinball FX pinball tables is available.
  • Pinball M and/or VPX tables are optional.
  • Participants may propose one FX table each, requiring a week's notice for approval and announcement.

2. Match Format

  • Matches consist of a single one-on-one pinball game.
  • Matches are simultaneously streamed side-by-side, ensuring uniformity in table settings and rules/roms.
  • The default ruleset of the table is used, unless both players agree on modifications.
  • The challenger selects the table for each match.
  • Non-standard tables, including those requiring Pinball M, Future Pinball, VPX, or any other game, may be used if approved by the stream host and agreed upon by both players. The stream host retains 100% decision-making authority regarding non-standard table selection.

3. Challenger Queue

  • Participants register to challenge the reigning King.
  • The initial queue is determined randomly.
  • Any new challengers are placed at the end of the current lineup.
  • After a loss, the challenger has the option to rejoin the queue, placing themselves at the end of the current lineup.

4. Winning and Progression

  • The winner of each match either becomes or continues as the King.
  • The reigning King competes against successive challengers until defeated.
  • Kings may voluntarily resign, passing the title to the next challenger in the queue.

5. Scoring and Victory Conditions

  • Victory is determined by the highest score at the end of the game.
  • Standard scoring rules of the selected table are applied.
  • In the event of a malfunction or network inturuption, the affected player is allowed a single restart.

6. Tie-Breakers

  • Ties are resolved through a rematch on the same table.

7. Stream Schedule and Duration

  • Stream schedules are pre-announced with a signup period.
  • Late entries will always be accepted as long as the competitor meets the streaming requirements without requiring assistance. Some technical assistance can be provided for early signups.
  • Each match duration is based on the standard game length of the chosen table.
  • Time constraints may be imposed under special circumstances.
  • Winners are expected to promptly conclude their game after determining the outcome, except in rare cases where a collective decision is made to continue.

8. Simulated Gambling, Prizes, and Raffles

  • Our event may feature simulated gambling elements for entertainment purposes only.
  • Any use of simulated gambling does not involve real money betting or gambling, and is solely part of the game's entertainment features.
  • Prizes or rewards, if any, for winning matches or competitions are subject to the rules and regulations of the event and will be announced separately.
  • Raffles or giveaways may be conducted as part of the event. Participation in such activities is voluntary, and any prizes awarded will be as per the terms and conditions specified at the time of the raffle or giveaway. No purchase necessary, some restrictions may apply.

9. Host Authority

  • The stream host retains 100% decision-making authority over all aspects of the event, including table selection, gameplay disputes, and event logistics.
  • In the event of any arguments, disagreements, or disputes, the stream host's decisions are final and cannot be contested.

10. Fair Play and Conduct

  • Participants are reminded to adhere to the spirit of fair play and sportsmanship in all aspects of the event, including simulated gambling, prize competitions, and raffles.
  • Professional conduct and sportsmanship are required at all times.
  • Any form of cheating or unsportsmanlike behavior will lead to disqualification.
  • In the event of any disputes, the stream host and event coordinators have the final say.
  • Don’t be a dick.
